Family Tree Help Page

So, you're interested in our Family Tree. This is currently a work in progress. Not all the trees are on the site. However, there are a few ways you can explore the ones we have uploaded.

Generational Summary by Family -- This is a graphical map to deliver you to (or close to) the area of the family you are interested in.

three generationsThe columns represent the family groups -- Razmantas, Matcovich, Ghersan, and Grubesich. Each row represents a generation. In each box there is a marriage (with the year of marriage) from the generation. This marriage arbitrarily represents a whole generation. If you click on the marriage, you will go to the Family Tree showing this marriage and the siblings, parents and children.

If you click on the photo, you will see a full-size view of the photo.

The Generational Summary page also gives you the option of going to the List of Marriages.

List of Marriages -- This lists the marriages in our extended family (duh). The marriages are listed by the husband's name but includes the wife's maiden name and the date of the marriage.

Our common ancestorIf you want to see a particular person, click on the marriage and you will go to the tree showing the marriage. From there, you can go forward or backwards and explore the WHOLE tree. We are all connected up through some relative or another.

Of course, this method ignores the fact that not everyone is married. If you want someone who is not married and you know a sibling (who IS married) or parent, click on that person and you will find the one you want.

Family Tree Pages --Each tree will show three or more generations. You can only get to the actual trees by clicking on this link or through one of the above interfaces.

Phil and Helen

Once in the Family Tree, you will see arrows by some entries. If you click on these arrows, you will be taken to ancestors, descendants, or siblings (depending on whether the arrow is up, down, or sideways (duh).

If you want to see a particular tree in a larger view, click on the button. Click on this button
Please note that the arrows don't work in the enlarged view. You will have to use your browser's back button to return to the previous page.

When you're on the family tree pages, you will always have the option of seeing the Ahnentafel of each family. Simply, this is a text version of the family tree. Click on the link and you'll see.

If you get completely lost in the trees, click on the Family Tree button from the list which is always across the top of the page. This will get you back to the Generational Summary page and you can start all over.
